About This Event

Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® returns from 8 to 10 April 2027 as part of the UTMB® World Series. The international trail-running event crosses some of Tenerife’s most dramatic landscapes, from Atlantic beaches and coastal paths to pine forests, ancient laurel forest, volcanic terrain and the high-altitude environment of Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 2027 edition introduces a new 68 km race, transforms the former 73 km route into a more demanding 82 km course and expands the Vertical Night Challenge, which starts beside the ocean for the first time. The programme also retains the 110 km, 47 km, 47 km Relay and 24 km races, together with Kids & Family activities and inclusive Challenge and Joëlette categories.

Official race programme

  • 8 April: Vertical Night Challenge — 6.5 km and 850 m of elevation gain. Start at Playa del Socorro at 20:30, finish at Mirador de La Corona and maximum race time of 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • 9 April: Tenerife Bluetrail 68k — 68 km and 3,600 m of elevation gain. Start in La Esperanza at 08:00, finish in Puerto de la Cruz and maximum race time of 16 hours.
  • 9 April: Tenerife Bluetrail 110k — 110 km and 6,250 m of elevation gain. Start at Playa de Los Cristianos at 23:00, cross the island from south to north, climb to approximately 3,555 metres in Teide National Park and finish in Puerto de la Cruz. Maximum race time: 27 hours.
  • 10 April: Tenerife Bluetrail 82k — 82 km and 3,300 m of elevation gain. Start in Vilaflor at 06:00, pass through historic trails and Teide National Park and finish in Puerto de la Cruz. Maximum race time: 18 hours.
  • 10 April: Tenerife Bluetrail 47k and 47k Relay — 47 km and 2,600 m of elevation gain. Start at Pinolere Ethnographic Park at 08:30 and finish in Puerto de la Cruz. Maximum race time: 11 hours 30 minutes.
  • 10 April: Tenerife Bluetrail 24k — 24 km and 1,300 m of elevation gain. Start at Palo Blanco at 17:30, pass through El Asomadero and Rambla de Castro and finish in Puerto de la Cruz. Maximum race time: 6 hours.

The 110k awards four Running Stones; the 82k and 68k award three; the 47k awards two; and the 24k awards one. The longer races are semi-self-sufficient mountain events with mandatory equipment, strict cut-off times, aid stations, live tracking, medical and rescue support, participant insurance, finisher medals and post-race services.

Minimum ages are 20 for the 110k, 82k and 68k; 18 for the 47k, 47k Relay and 24k; and 15 for the Vertical Night Challenge. The 110k requires a valid UTMB® Performance Index in the 100K or 100M category, and the organiser recommends a minimum 100M index of 410 because of the demanding cut-off times.

Registration prices start from 30€ for the Vertical Night Challenge. Other early-entry prices start from 55€ for the 24k, 70€ for the 47k, 110€ for the 68k and 47k Relay, 150€ for the 82k and 195€ for the 110k. An additional 8% banking and administration fee applies. Canary Islands residents receive a 30% discount on the applicable race-bib price. Registration remains open until 10 March 2027 or until places sell out.

At the time this listing was prepared, the 110k and 82k were full, while registrations remained open for the 68k, 47k, 24k, 47k Relay and Vertical Night Challenge. Availability may change as places are limited.
