Tenerife’s major August pilgrimage honours the Patroness of the Canary Islands with religious ceremonies, processions and thousands of pilgrims in Candelaria.

Programme and practical details

The August festivities extend until 16 August and combine major concerts, craft activities, Guanche ceremonial traditions, wrestling, offerings and religious services. The central days are 14 and 15 August, when thousands of pilgrims gather around the Basilica and Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias. Confirmed performers in the wider programme include Ara Malikian, Café Quijano, Los Cantadores with Falete, Anaé and Los Sabandeños.
