TEA’s summer retrospective continues with Nagisa Oshima’s provocative 1976 film In the Realm of the Senses. Based on events in 1930s Tokyo, the film follows an increasingly obsessive relationship and became a landmark of international art cinema for the radical way it approached desire, power and physical intimacy. The museum presents it in original version with Spanish subtitles as part of a cycle looking back at major films from fifty years ago.
