Veteran Japanese filmmaker Yôji Yamada directs a gentle road movie through Tokyo in which a financially pressured taxi driver is hired to take an 85-year-old woman to the care home where she will live. She asks to visit places connected with her past along the way, and the journey gradually becomes an exchange of memories, wounds and unexpected companionship.
