The 14th Valleseco International Zarzuela Competition is devoted exclusively to solo voices in Spanish lyric theatre. Twenty-nine semifinalists linked to eleven countries take part under the artistic direction of conductor Isabel Costes.

• Saturday, 18:00: semifinal. Each singer performs one romanza and introduces its historical and social context.
• Sunday, 11:00: grand final, with the selected voices performing the remaining two romanzas from their submitted programme and accompaniment by the Ensemble of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra.

The competition combines vocal excellence with the promotion of zarzuela’s musical and dramatic heritage.
