Santa Cruz de Tenerife symbolically opens its new carnival season with the public unveiling of the official poster for Carnaval 2027, dedicated to “Eternal Rome: The Empire of Carnival”.

The five finalist artworks selected from the public competition will be represented when the winning design is revealed. The chosen artist receives the competition’s €12,000 prize, and the work becomes the official visual identity of the next edition.

Programme

• Official poster unveiling and announcement of the winning artist.
• Tonny Tun Tun — the Puerto Rican singer brings his merengue repertoire to the square, including music associated with hits such as “Noche de Copas”, “La incondicional” and “Porque sin ti”.
• Maquinaria Band — the Canary orchestra continues the celebration with some of the best-known songs and anthems of the Santa Cruz Carnival.

The open-air gathering is conceived as the first public dance of the 2027 edition: an early meeting point for carnival groups, residents and visitors before the formal competition programme begins.
