A commemorative Eucharist in the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Candelaria is presided over by Fray Dailos José Melo González, prior of the convent and rector of the Basilica.

It is followed by art historian and exhibition curator Pablo Hernández Abreu, presenting Para mayor desgracia. El aluvión de 1826 y la ruina del Convento de Candelaria, a talk exploring the flood’s impact on the convent.
